At Childwall Abbey School we know how important the school-home relationship is, and we want to encourage you to be involved in all aspects of your child’s education. Our Learning Mentor, Michelle Mollard and Pastoral LSO, Ronnie Maloney work closely with SENDCo, Mrs Shaw, E.W.O. (Educational Welfare Officer) Mrs Marsh, Mental Health First Aider, Pete Morrow, and the ARC 1 and ARC 2 intervention staff, to provide the additional care your child may need.

The Pastoral Support Team aim to help you to achieve this in a number of ways:

• Keeping you informed about your child’s welfare while at school.
• Helping you support your child’s learning.
• Creating opportunities for partnership working with parents to enhance communication and attainment.
• Hosting parental groups and coffee mornings on a wide variety of topics e.g. ASD, ADHD, Social Communication, Helping your child with Literacy/Numeracy, Relaxation Techniques, Health Issues, Keeping Safe, e-Safety.

The Pastoral Team support pupils who may have barriers to their learning.  These may include – Difficulties in Social Communication, Problems with Social Interaction, Anger issues, Bereavement, Attendance, Family difficulties, Sexuality, Personal Hygiene.
