School Council (Parents/Carers)

At Childwall Abbey School, we understand it is very important for ALL students to have a voice and know that their views and opinions count.

Pupils in each class choose their class representative for the School Council. It is a voluntary role however every class must be included so that no one misses out.

Each councillor has to make sure that the views of all of the students in their class are shared with the Headteacher and Governors. They work hard to find ways of collecting the ideas and suggestions of the rest of the school by:

  • having class discussions
  • listening to the views of others
  • preparing and giving out student questionnaires

Our School Council is supported by Mrs Piercy (Headteacher) and Mr Maloney (Pastoral Support). We meet in the School Library to talk about a variety of topics such as break and lunchtime activities, school lunches, sporting opportunities and curriculum. The aim is always to make our school an even better place to be.

Being a School Councillor is an interesting and valuable role. It is a great way of contributing to the life of the school and a good preparation for life after Childwall Abbey School.
