The current warm spell is a good reminder of the importance of staying safe in hot weather. To help families prepare, we have shared this poster, which contains useful advice on hydration, sun safety and keeping children cool during periods of high temperatures.
During periods of hot weather, the risk of drowning can increase in children and young people. The Water Safety Code is intended to raise awareness and educate children in water safety and lifesaving skills. Please ensure that you speak to your child(ren) about the potential dangers of swimming, especially without supervision and in areas without lifeguards.

The Summer HAF programme starts on the 20th July with free activities, and a meal, for every child that attends. Children and young people, from reception to age 16, who are eligible for Targeted (benefits related) free school meals, will be able to access hundreds of activities throughout the summer holidays including SEND specific provision.
