  • Face coverings in schools – Latest public health instructions

    Tue 15 Sep 2020

15/09/2020 – Please note the latest Public Health Liverpool instructions received by Mrs Piercy today regarding face coverings in schools.

    Essential use of face coverings

Dear Head teacher, levels of COVID-19 in Liverpool are high and increasing every day – we need to take urgent action.

It is now essential that parents and carers in Liverpool wear face coverings when collecting and dropping off their children at school.   All school staff should role model best practice by also wearing a face covering if supervising during collection or drop off.  Those who refuse or cannot wear face coverings should maintain social distancing of at least 2m from children and other parents/ carers.

We thank you in advance for ensuring greater levels of safety in your school and our communities.

    Many thanks,

Matthew Ashton (Director of Public Health Liverpool City Council)

Thank you in advance for helping to keep our community safe and our school open.

  • Welcome back!

    Wed 02 Sep 2020

All staff at Childwall Abbey School have been working hard to prepare to welcome our pupils back to school, as safely as possible. We have missed being together and are looking forward to catching up with everyone and welcoming our new starters. Mostly, the school will look and feel the same, but there are a few changes in place, to keep everyone safe and well. Change can be difficult and we are ready to help anyone who might struggle.

We have lots of exciting new equipment and facilities on the playgrounds and in classrooms. Pupils will be spending a lot of time with their form staff while they settle back into school. Years 7, 8, 9,10 and 11 (Key Stage 3 and 4) will return to school on the morning of 3rd September 2020.  Sixth-form students and Nurture Group pupils will return to school on the morning of 7th September 2020. We can’t wait to see you!
