    Artificial intelligence is creating new online safety risks for children. This guide from the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) explains how AI can be misused to create harmful images, offers practical advice to help protect your child, and outlines what to do if you have concerns.

  • Sports Day Cancelled - Friday

    Due to the forecast of very hot weather, we have taken the decision to cancel Sports Day on Friday.

    The health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and visitors is our priority, and the expected temperatures mean it would not be safe to hold the event.

    Unfortunately, Sports Day will not be rearranged. With similarly high temperatures forecast for the final week of term, we are unable to identify a suitable alternative date.

    Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

  • Keeping children cool in hot weather

    The current warm spell is a good reminder of the importance of staying safe in hot weather. To help families prepare, we have shared this poster, which contains useful advice on hydration, sun safety and keeping children cool during periods of high temperatures.

  • Water Safety Statement

    During periods of hot weather, the risk of drowning can increase in children and young people. The Water Safety Code is intended to raise awareness and educate children in water safety and lifesaving skills. Please ensure that you speak to your child(ren) about the potential dangers of swimming, especially without supervision and in areas without lifeguards.

  • Summer Holiday Activities & Food Programme (HAF)

    The Summer HAF programme starts on the 20th July with free activities, and a meal, for every child that attends. Children and young people, from reception to age 16, who are eligible for Targeted (benefits related) free school meals, will be able to access hundreds of activities throughout the summer holidays including SEND specific provision.   • Happy half-term!

    Wishing everyone in our C.A.S. community a very happy and restful May Half Term break. Enjoy the good weather and having some free time to get out and about in our lovely city or further afield.

    We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 1st June 2026 for the last half-term of this very busy school year.

  • Ketamine information leaflet for parents/carers

    LCC have asked schools to share an advice leaflet for parents/carers who may have concerns or require support around ketamine. This is part of the Ketamine Action Plan, which LCC describes as "our collective response to the city’s growing concern over ketamine use and harm, particularly among teenagers and young adults."

    We wish all the pupils, parents, carers, staff, governors, visitors and friends of Childwall Abbey School a very Merry Christmas and take this opportunity to welcome our newest parent governor, Vicci Ryan to the C.A.S. team. Thanks go out to all parents and carers for their kind good wishes, cards and gifts.
