• Letter to parents/carers re increasing Covid-19 cases

  Liverpool City Council have produced a letter for parents/carers regarding an increase in Covid-19 cases in the Liverpool area, along with information on the 'Delta' variant of coronavirus, and details of the impact that rising cases will have within school.

• Happy half-term!

  We have had a very positive time in school over the past few weeks. We are so proud of our KS3 pupils, who took part in this year’s Dot Art competition. The three winners will be taking part in a virtual awards ceremony. Thank you to everyone who voted! C.A.S. School Council election was a great success very. Class representatives are wearing their badges with pride. The first Council meetings went well. Our councillors have lots of great ideas. Our Sixth-formers have been working very hard, developing our horticulture area, which is filling up with lots of lovely flowers, fruit and vegetables.

   

  During half-term, our new C.A.S. website will be launched. We’re not expecting any technical difficulties but if there any and and we need to share information with parents/carers, this will be via text messaging.

   

  When we return on 7th June 2021, we will be heading towards the summer holidays. Virtual Parents Evenings will take place on 14th and 21st June. We will hold a Summer Sports Activity Day this year. Unfortunately, on the advice of LCC, we will not be able to invite Parents and Carers to attend. We will do our best to capture events and share pictures via the website. Year 11 pupils and Sixth-form Leavers will be on the run up to the next stage of their education. We wish them the very best of luck as they prepare to move on to college or Sixth form in September and hope that they enjoy their long summer holiday. Their leaving date is Friday 25th June 2021, at the usual time.

   

  After the holiday, we hope to be out and about locally and on our site, enjoying good weather. Please apply sun cream to your child before coming to school, if required. Drinking water is available as required. Water bottles from home are not needed.

   

  We have been asked to share two sets of information with you, one from Liverpool City Council and one from Public Health Liverpool. Please see the links in the Latest News Documents section to read them.

   

  PLEASE NOTE: parents/carers should contact school if their child develops Covid symptoms BEFORE 3pm on Sunday 30th May 2021. Please leave a message on the school email – info@childwallabbeyschool.net After this time, contacting school is not necessary.

• Democracy in action at C.A.S.

  All C.A.S. pupils have spent time throughout the past week learning about democratic values and how fortunate we are to have right to vote. School Council elections are taking place today. We are so proud of everyone for taking part in discussions, asking questions, stepping up as candidates, showing respect for other people’s opinions and exercising their right to vote in a secret ballot. What wonderful young citizens!

It is so important that parents and carers are always vigilant about what their child may be exposed to online when they are not in school. • Wellbeing matters

  We have been lucky to have lots of fine weather since our return to school after Easter. This has meant C.A.S. pupils have been able to spend lots of time in the fresh air, using our outdoor classrooms, exercise equipment, MUGA, sports field and walking in the local area. Exercise is so good for our mental health and wellbeing. Hopefully we will all be able to get out and about over the Bank Holiday weekend too. Enjoy the break!

• Happy Easter

  Well done to everyone for making such a calm and successful return to being all together in school over the past few weeks. Special thanks to parents and carers who have kept us updated regarding Covid test results and isolation and who have encouraged all our children to return to school from 8th March.

   

  Many thanks to all who contributed to our “own clothes day” fundraiser for Comic Relief. The total raised was £104, which is excellent.

   

  After the holiday, pupils and staff will continue to work in bubbles and transport arrangements. The modified timetable will remain the same. Pupils must continue to attend school in uniform, except on PE days when they must attend in appropriate clothing to allow them take part in physical activities i.e. plain t-shirt or sweatshirt and joggers (not fashion items or football kit please).

  Many thanks to all our amazing pupils, parents, carers and staff for such a successful and positive first week all back together on-site. It has been wonderful to see everyone, to catch up on news and to get back into the routine of life at C.A.S.

   

  Thanks also to parents for sending pupils back looking so smart and ready to learn and for returning any work packs remaining at home. Everyone has been very sensible, following the school Covid Safety rules. Form bubble groups have already been out and about in our beautiful local area, blowing away the cobwebs and enjoying outdoor exercise. Hopefully, with the arrival of Spring, we will be able to do lots more healthy activities to support our wellbeing.

   

  We are so proud of our C.A.S. community. Thank you again, keep up the good work and stay safe!

  

• Welcome back!

  A very heartfelt welcome back to everyone! We are looking forward to all being together again on 8th March ’21 and getting back to enjoying to our on-site timetable, as we did throughout the Autumn Term. Transport arrangements will be the same as they were before Christmas. Please remember to wear your uniform, bring a raincoat and be ready to get out and about from next Monday, whatever the weather!

• On-site COVID Testing Offer

  Please note that taking part in COVID testing is voluntary and you may decide not to give consent for your child to be tested. No child will be tested unless parental consent via this form has been given in advance. If a child declines the test on the day they will not be made to take the test. Verbal permission, text or email will not be accepted as parental consent.
