• Fundraising thank you…

  A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who kindly contributed to our Minibus fundraising efforts.  We have raised a total of £500 over the past two weeks, through our Hamper raffle and the Sixth-form Enterprise Group sale of craft items, produced by many pupils throughout the school. We are making steady progress towards our target of £7,000.  The rest of the cost of purchasing a new bus, will be met by a donation by the Steve Morgan Foundation.  We are very grateful for their generous support.

  

• Parent governor election result

  The Governors of Childwall Abbey School are pleased to announce that Mrs Josephine McKeown has been duly elected as our newest Parent Governor.  We congratulate Mrs McKeown on her appointment and extend special thanks to all those parents who kindly put their names forward.  Thanks also go to all the parents and carers who took the time to vote in this election.

  

• Important notice

  Please note that there is currently an outbreak of Norovirus in the Liverpool area. Childwall Abbey School has been affected significantly, resulting in a short school closure. We have now reopened following a deep clean. This should help to restrict the spread of the infection. If your child becomes ill with the symptoms of this virus, they should not attend school until 48 hours after their symptoms end.

  Due to the outbreak of a virus in school, C.A.S is closed to pupils on Tuesday 26th November and Wednesday 27th November.  School will open as normal on Thursday 28th November.  Please see the link below for further information.

  Voting slips have been sent out for a Parent Governor vacancy. Please read the information attached and return completed slips to the school office, in the envelope provided, no later than 9.30a.m. on Friday 22nd November. We thank all the candidates for their kind offer of support for the school.

  Please note that our next Parents Evening will take place on Tuesday 26th November from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you on that day.

  We have been advised by Liverpool City Council, that Childwall Abbey School will be a polling station for the General Election on Thursday 12th December 2019. As a consequence, school will be closed to pupils on that day.

  

• World Mental Health Day

  This Thursday is World Mental Health Day. The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. At C.A.S. we value and support the health and well-being of our whole community. As a Healthy School, we promote healthy eating, daily exercise and positive activities, which all encourage good mental health.
