• Parent governor election result

  The Governors of Childwall Abbey School are pleased to announce that Mrs Josephine McKeown has been duly elected as our newest Parent Governor.  We congratulate Mrs McKeown on her appointment and extend special thanks to all those parents who kindly put their names forward.  Thanks also go to all the parents and carers who took the time to vote in this election.

  

• Important notice

  Please note that there is currently an outbreak of Norovirus in the Liverpool area. Childwall Abbey School has been affected significantly, resulting in a short school closure. We have now reopened following a deep clean. This should help to restrict the spread of the infection. If your child becomes ill with the symptoms of this virus, they should not attend school until 48 hours after their symptoms end.

  Due to the outbreak of a virus in school, C.A.S is closed to pupils on Tuesday 26th November and Wednesday 27th November.  School will open as normal on Thursday 28th November.  Please see the link below for further information.

• Important dates

  Voting slips have been sent out for a Parent Governor vacancy. Please read the information attached and return completed slips to the school office, in the envelope provided, no later than 9.30a.m. on Friday 22nd November. We thank all the candidates for their kind offer of support for the school.

  Please note that our next Parents Evening will take place on Tuesday 26th November from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you on that day.

  We have been advised by Liverpool City Council, that Childwall Abbey School will be a polling station for the General Election on Thursday 12th December 2019. As a consequence, school will be closed to pupils on that day.

  

• World Mental Health Day

  This Thursday is World Mental Health Day. The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. At C.A.S. we value and support the health and well-being of our whole community. As a Healthy School, we promote healthy eating, daily exercise and positive activities, which all encourage good mental health. • Fundraising cake sale

  We raised a fantastic £330 for MacMillan Cancer Support at our fundraising cake sale on Thursday 26th Sept.  Thank you to everyone who kindly donated to this great cause.

  A very warm welcome back to all members of our Childwall Abbey School community. We hope that everyone has had a lovely, restful summer holiday. A very special welcome goes out to all our new pupils and staff. Here’s to another happy and busy year of learning and fun.

  Wishing all members of Childwall Abbey School community a very happy, healthy and restful summer holiday. All our good wishes also go with our leavers. School re-opens for pupils on 4^th September 2019. We look forward to welcoming everyone back safe and sound, ready for the new school year. • Raffle for C.A.S. Minibus Fund June 2019

  We continue to fundraise towards the purchase of a new minibus for C.A.S. Over the next two weeks, tickets will be on sale from the School Office at a cost of £1 for a strip of 5 tickets. We have received an amazingly generous donation from one of our families, of a series of vouchers for exciting prizes. We are so grateful!

  The prizes are –

  • A rally Experience for 2
  • 2x Pizza Express Vouchers worth £20 each
  • 2x Odeon Cinema vouchers worth £25 each
  • 1x Taste Co voucher giving money off purchases in a wide variety of shops etc.
  • A variety of other prizes – chocolates, wine, toiletries, cuddly toys.

  Tickets will be available from the School Office until 4/7/19. Thank you for helping to support this special cause.

• School closed to pupils Thursday 23rd May

  Parents/Carers please note –

  Childwall Abbey School will be closed to pupils all day, on Thursday 23^rd May 2019, due to voting in the European Elections. Only those Year 11 pupils who have an exam on that day should attend. (Transport will be provided for those pupils.) School will be open as usual on Friday 24^th May.
